Banff World Television Festival
The Banff World Television Festival is the world's most important television content
creation event. Now in its 26th year, this annual forum is dedicated to the development
of business and creative opportunities for those in television programming and new media
industry. In addition to honouring excellence in international television, the Festival
provides a global platform for networking, discussion and debate, and explores current
issues and challenges within the industry.
This year's Festival takes place June 12 - 15, 2005, at the Fairmont Banff Springs
in the Canadian Rockies, and will draw television professionals from around the world.
Features will include provocative seminars, inspiring Master Classes, unique pitching
opportunities and more.
The Festival combines a prestigious international program competition, the Banff
Rockie Awards, with a comprehensive conference agenda. Within this marketplace of ideas,
co-production deals are secured and advanced, new business relationships are formed and
future trends in the industry are identified and examined.
Banff Television Festival Foundation
The Banff Television Festival Foundation has a mandate to recognize, develop, celebrate
and encourage excellence in television programming within Canada and around the world. A
not-for-profit organization, the Banff Television Festival Foundation owns the Banff World
Television Festival which is produced by Achilles Media Ltd. in conjunction with Foundation's
Board of Directors. Funding for the Festival comes from a wide variety of sources in Canada
and around the world, including broadcasters, industry sponsors, public agencies, government,
independent producers, and a host of other supporters.
Achilles Media Ltd.
Achilles Media is a management organization for the Banff World Television Festival, and
also manages the World Congress of History Producers and nextMEDIA - The International
Interactive Media Festival. Achilles Media undertakes the organization of prime international
events as well as training and development opportunities for content creators and other
professionals in the television and new media industries. Our team of professionals combines
creative event management with industry expertise. The focus of Achilles Media is to develop
and support current and future leaders of our industry worldwide.
